Security Filters in BC

Hi All

I created permission sets with a security filter linked to all my tables that have the filed location available.

The filters work well until it comes to the requisition worksheets. The current scenario we have:

A user creates a SO for the customer residing in there location, the item and SKU table is exempted from the location security filter, but when the users needs to create a PO from the SO, it specifies that they cannot execute the task because a security filter is assigned to requisition line.

I just need to understand the logic behind this so that I can change my permission sets as needed.

    Hello,

To resolve this, review and adjust the security filters on the requisition line table and ensure the permission sets allow necessary access without being restricted by these filters.

    Hi,

This happens because the Requisition Line table respects the security filter you've set on the Location field. Even though the Item and SKU tables are excluded, the requisition worksheet needs to evaluate all relevant data across locations to generate suggested POs.

If the user’s permission set includes a Location filter, the system can't access data for other locations, which leads to that security error.

    Please try to do following,

You can either remove the Location filter from the Requisition Line table, or

Create a separate permission set without the filter, just for users who need to run the planning/requisition process

Once suggestions are generated, you can reapply stricter filters for other actions.

    Hope that helps!

    Zain
