New Work Order doesn't update Work Order Process any more

OOB the old Work Order form had the Work Order Business process banner that you could click to move through the stages.  Once you clicked Finished it would update that WOs recording Work Order Business Process table to Finished.

Now it doesn't seem to do that.  How do you "Finish" a work order with the new form such that the Work Order Business Process table gets properly updated?

WHY DO I ASK?  We use that as a filter in our Work Orders view.

New Work Order doesn't update Work Order Process any more
Thanks for your efforts Holly.  I do appreciate it.   It's sad that there seems to be very little activity on these forums...at least in my experience.

However, I think there is a disconnect between what I'm asking and what the product does.

If you look at a Work Order in Field Service and you select to use the old Work Order form (the one that doesn't say "(new)", you'll notice a Work Order Business Process banner that is a way to walk the WO through a separate Business Process cycle that is somewhat separate from changing the WO System Status and what WO Bookings does to change the WO System Status.

These steps actually update a Dataverse table called Work Order Business Process.  So no amount of changing the WO Status affects any of this.

My question is where did that go in the New Work Order form?  It looks like they abandoned it.

There is no "Finished" Work Order status.  Once we set a Work Order's status to Posted, we then click on the Close Work Order section on the Business Process Banner of that Work Order and click the FINISH BUTTON.  Again this does nothing to the WO System Status (it stays as Completed | Posted).  What it does instead is update the Status Reason field of the Work Order Business Process table to "Finished" (among other things).

We use that table in at least one of our WO List filters.

I like that they created a separate WO Business Process flow from the WO Status|Substatus flow giving extra flexibility.  I'm just sad (and confused why) they removed it from the new form.  Maybe it wasn't used that much I don't know.

To be clear we're talking about the OOB function, nothing custom.

New Work Order doesn't update Work Order Process any more
Thanks for your effort, but I am hoping someone with direct experience can give me some specific help.

The old Work Order Business Process had 3 main sections.  Work Order, Schedule Work Order, Close Work Order.  The Business Process allowed you to fill out the first section and click "Next".  On the last one it allowed you to update the Work Order System Status and then click Finish.

Clicking Finish was the action that updated the Work Order Business Process table (among other things).

With the new form there is no where to click "Finish".  Changing the Status to Posted | Invoiced does not do it either.

So if there's someone from MS on here or who's familiar with what I'm referencing, please help.

    Hi there!

If you open the work order and then change the status field to "finished" or whatever the "finished" status is you guys utilize - after saving those changes. If the new form does not automatically update the Work Order Business Process table as expected, you might need to customize the form or process to ensure it aligns with your specific requirements. You can switch between the classic work order form and the new form using the form switcher under the work order name
