Hi Community,

I would like to see all my storage bins in Business Central when generating a physical inventory or inventory order. I have set one location as default and fixed. Our company processes orders based on bins. Now, I generated a list of the items, but I’m missing one bin — 221-26-01a — because according to the system there is currently no inventory in that bin. However, it’s possible that there is actually inventory there, even though Business Central doesn’t reflect that.

What do I need to configure so that all bins, including the empty ones, are included in the inventory order printout?

    Hello,

To ensure all bins, including empty ones, are included in your inventory order printout in Business Central, you need to enable the setting to include empty bins in the Location Card and during the calculation of the physical inventory order.

Additionally, using the Warehouse Physical Inventory Journal can help manage bin-level inventory.

If necessary, customize the report layout to ensure all bins are displayed.

This configuration ensures no bins are missed, even if they currently show no inventory.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

To include all bins, even the empty ones, in the inventory order printout in Business Central, you need to configure the following:
    1. Enable Empty Bins in the Location Setup:
      • Navigate to the Location Card for the location in question.
      • Ensure that the Bin Mandatory setting is enabled.
      • Check the option to include empty bins in inventory processes. This ensures that bins without inventory are also considered during calculations.
    2. Adjust the Physical Inventory Order Setup:
      • When generating the physical inventory order, use the Calculate Lines function.
      • In the calculation options, ensure that the setting to include empty bins is selected. This will add all bins, regardless of their inventory status, to the order.
    3. Warehouse Physical Inventory Journal:
      • If you're using advanced warehousing, consider using the Warehouse Physical Inventory Journal instead. This journal is designed to handle bin-level inventory and can include empty bins in the printout.
    4. Custom Report Modifications:
      • If the standard printout does not meet your needs, you may need to customize the report layout. A developer can modify the report to ensure that all bins, including empty ones, are displayed.

    Hope this helps some!
