Dynamics 365 Sales Professional trial | Sing-in problem for no admin users.

Hey team,

We're facing an urgent issue with our Dynamics 365 Sales trial, which expires on April 29th. My colleagues are completely unable to access the Dynamics 365 Sales application. Crucially, they are also unable to see the Dynamics 365 Sales environment I created for this trial. This strongly suggests an environment-level access problem, even though we've verified that they have the necessary Microsoft 365 licenses and, as far as we can tell, correct permissions within Dynamics 365.

Here's what we've checked so far:

  • Licensing: We've confirmed they have the appropriate Dynamics 365 Sales licenses assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

  • Permissions: We've reviewed the security roles within Dynamics 365 and believe they are correctly assigned.

  • Basic Troubleshooting: We've tried clearing browser cache/cookies and using different browsers.

  •

They can access other Microsoft 365 applications, but not Dynamics 365 Sales. The primary issue is that they cannot see the environment itself. This points to a deeper access problem beyond individual user accounts.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with Dynamics 365 Sales trials, particularly concerning environment visibility? Any suggestions on further troubleshooting steps or potential solutions would be greatly appreciated.

We are actively seeking any and all suggestions to resolve this critical environment visibility and sign-in issue and ensure our colleagues can access the trial before it expires. Any insights, tips, or potential solutions you can offer would be incredibly valuable.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hello ER-01040027-0,

You're facing a classic and time-sensitive issue with Dynamics 365 Sales trial environment visibility, and the fact that it's expiring soon makes it even more critical. Let's systematically troubleshoot this to get your colleagues access.

    Key Points to Emphasize:

    • Environment Visibility: The core problem is that your colleagues cannot see the Dynamics 365 Sales environment itself. This is distinct from application access issues.
    • Licensing and Permissions: You've checked these, but we'll revisit them with a finer lens.
    • Trial Expiration: The looming trial expiration on April 29th adds urgency.

    •

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) Environment Access:

      • Direct Environment Sharing:

        • This is the most likely source of the problem.
        • Go to the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC): .
        • Select the Dynamics 365 Sales trial environment.
        • Go to "Users" or "Security."
        • Explicitly add your colleagues as users to the environment.
        • Even with correct licenses, they need to be added to the environment itself.

      • Security Roles within PPAC:

        • While you checked security roles within Dynamics 365, PPAC also has environment-level security roles.
        • Ensure they have an environment-level role that grants user access.

    2. Azure Active Directory (AAD) Group Membership:

      • AAD Groups and Environment Access:

        • It's possible your environment is configured to grant access based on AAD group membership.
        • Verify if any AAD groups are associated with the environment in PPAC.
        • Ensure your colleagues are members of those groups.

        •

    3. Dynamics 365 License Verification (Detailed):

      • Specific License Types:

        • "Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise" or similar is required.
        • Double-check the precise license type assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
        • Confirm the licenses are correctly provisioned.

      • License Assignment Propagation:

        • Sometimes, license assignments take time to propagate.
        • If the licenses were recently assigned, wait a few minutes and have them try again.

        •

    4. Environment Region and User Location:

      • Region Mismatch:

        • In rare cases, if your colleagues' user accounts are associated with a different geographic region than your Dynamics 365 Sales trial environment, access issues can occur.
        • This is less likely, but worth checking.

    5. Trial Environment Status:

      • Environment Health:

        • In PPAC, check the environment's health status.
        • Look for any warnings or errors.

      • Trial Extension (If Possible):

        • If you're unable to resolve the issue quickly, see if you can extend the trial period through PPAC or Microsoft Support.

    6. Browser and Network Issues:

      • InPrivate/Incognito Mode:

        • Have them try accessing the environment in an InPrivate/Incognito browser window.
        • This bypasses browser cache and extensions.

      • Network Connectivity:

        • Ensure they have stable internet connectivity.
        • Try accessing the environment from a different network.

        •

    7. Contact Microsoft Support (Urgent):

      • Escalate Immediately:

        • Given the time constraint, escalate the issue to Microsoft Support immediately.
        • Clearly state that it's a trial environment with an imminent expiration date.

      • Provide Detailed Information:

        • Provide them with:

          • The environment name and ID.
          • The user account details of the colleagues experiencing the issue.
          • Screenshots of the error messages or lack of environment visibility.
          • All the troubleshooting steps you have taken.

          •

    8.

    Critical Actions:

    • PPAC User Check: Prioritize checking environment-level user access in the Power Platform Admin Center.
    • Microsoft Support: Escalate to Microsoft Support without delay.

    •

By following these steps, you should be able to pinpoint the cause of the environment visibility issue and restore access for your colleagues.
