Forms and DOI Confirmation Mail in Real-Time Marketing

Hey,
i'm currently transitioning from Outbound Marketing to Real-Time Marketing.
In Outbound, i have forms (e.g. to request a whitepaper) which are hosted on an external website and they have DOI enabled, meaning when someone fills out the form, they will autmatically receive an e-mail with a DOI and once this e-mail has been confirmed, they will be sent to an external website where they can download a whitepaper.
Attached is a screenshot of the settings in the respective form.
How can i rebuild this in Real-Time Marketing? I have already rebuilt the form and I found out how to activate DOI for forms but - if I understand it correctly - there's only the option for a general DOI / confirmation mail and thank you pages to use in every form. I want to use different confirmation mails and thank you pages for different forms.

Forms and DOI Confirmation Mail in Real-Time Marketing
    Hello Johanna1902,

You've identified a key difference and a challenge when transitioning from Outbound Marketing (OBM) to Real-Time Marketing (RTM) regarding double opt-in (DOI) and form-specific post-submission actions. In OBM, you had granular control at the form level, but RTM's DOI is more centralized.

Here's how to approach rebuilding your whitepaper request scenario in RTM, addressing the DOI and post-submission customization:

    Understanding the RTM DOI Approach:

    • Centralized DOI: RTM's DOI mechanism is primarily configured at the tenant or organizational level. This means settings like the confirmation email and thank-you pages tend to be more general.
    • Journey-Based Actions: RTM emphasizes using customer journeys to manage post-submission actions and personalized follow-ups.

    •

    Rebuilding the Whitepaper Request Scenario:

    1. Form Creation in RTM:

      • You've already done this, which is the first step.
      • Ensure all required fields (e.g., email) are correctly mapped.

    2. DOI Configuration (General):

      • Configure the general DOI settings in RTM. This will apply to all forms that use DOI.
      • Go to Settings > Customer Engagement > Real-time marketing settings > Consent center.
      • Set up your confirmation email and general thank-you page.
      • This is the general flow that will be used.

    3. Customer Journey for Form-Specific Actions:

      • Create a Customer Journey:

        • Create a new customer journey in RTM.
        • Set the trigger to be "When a form is submitted."
        • Select your whitepaper request form as the trigger.

      • Send Confirmation Email (Customized):

        • Add a "Send an email" activity immediately after the trigger.

        • Customize the email content:

          • This email will be your form-specific confirmation email, not the general DOI email.
          • Include a link or button that users must click to confirm their opt-in.

        • Add a custom field for the DOI confirmation status to the contact/lead entity:

          • You can use this field to track whether the user has confirmed their opt-in.

        • Add a condition to the journey:

          • The condition should check if the custom field has been updated to indicate that the user has confirmed their opt-in.

      • Send to External Website (Customized):

        • Add a "Redirect" activity after the condition.
        • Configure the redirect activity to send users to the external website where they can download the whitepaper.

      • Update Contact/Lead (Optional):

        • Add an "Update a record" activity to update the contact or lead record with information about the whitepaper request.

        •

    Explanation:

    • Journey-Driven Customization: By using a journey, you can create a form-specific flow that includes:

      • A customized confirmation email.
      • A customized redirect to the download page.
      • Additional actions, such as updating the contact or lead record.

    • Custom Field for Opt-In: The custom field allows you to track opt-in status and control the journey flow.
    • DOI Compliance: You still maintain DOI compliance by requiring users to confirm their email address before accessing the whitepaper.

    •

    Advantages of This Approach:

    • Form-Specific Customization: You can create unique confirmation emails and download pages for each form.
    • Flexibility: You can add additional actions to the journey, such as sending follow-up emails or segmenting users.
    • RTM Best Practices: This approach aligns with RTM's journey-centric design.

    •

    Important Considerations:

    • Data Model: Ensure that your contact or lead entity has the necessary fields to track opt-in status and whitepaper requests.
    • Testing: Thoroughly test your form and journey to ensure that they function correctly.
    • User Experience: Design your emails and download pages to provide a seamless user experience.
    • Compliance: Ensure that your implementation complies with all applicable privacy regulations.

    •

By using this journey-based approach, you can effectively rebuild your whitepaper request scenario in RTM while maintaining the form-specific customization you had in OBM.

Forms and DOI Confirmation Mail in Real-Time Marketing
Good morning, afternoon, or evening - depending on your location :)
    Hope you are well today!

In Real-Time Marketing (RTM), the double opt-in (DOI) process is slightly different from Outbound Marketing, but you can still achieve your goal of using different confirmation emails and thank-you pages for each form. Here's how you can rebuild this functionality:

    1. Enable Double Opt-In for Forms:
      • In RTM, you can enable DOI for forms by navigating to the form settings and toggling the DOI option on. This ensures that a confirmation email is sent when someone submits the form.
    2. Customize Confirmation Emails:
      • While RTM has a general DOI confirmation email by default, you can create separate confirmation emails for each form. To do this:
        • Design a new email in the RTM email editor for each form.
        • Include the DOI confirmation link in the email. This link is essential for the DOI process to work.
    3. Assign Specific Emails to Forms:
      • In the form settings, you can specify which confirmation email to use. This allows you to assign the custom email you created for that particular form.
    4. Set Up Thank-You Pages:
      • RTM allows you to redirect users to a specific thank-you page after they confirm their email. To set this up:
        • Create a unique thank-you page for each form.
        • In the form settings, specify the URL of the thank-you page you want to use.
    5. Test the Process:
      • Before going live, test each form to ensure that the correct confirmation email is sent and that users are redirected to the appropriate thank-you page after confirming their email.

    Hope this helps :)
